Life, In Spite of Me Winner

Congrats to Darcy who won the Life, In Spite of Me giveaway from WaterBrook Multnomah.

The “Why” Behind My Break…

I was overwhelmed. To say the least! After 2 garage sales, packing like crazy, taking a journey over the state line into Kentucky, setting up home in a new place, starting a job after being a full time homemaker for 2 and a half years…

I needed a break to gather my sanity!

Life has a way of sneaking up on us! Am I right?

Here I was going about my to do list…trying to accomplish everything I needed to do. Failing

I knew something needed to give for me to regather my thoughts. I needed a break!

It is important to put first things first! This blog is all about my journey putting God first place in my life and encouraging others to do the same.

On my list of priorities, God comes first. My husband comes next. Followed by my home. Then my “ministry” things come after all of that.

It is important for me to take care of the first three things first!! Which is why I needed to take the break and focus on my home and hubby.

Thanks for understanding!

*By the way, I have also decided that once a week I am going to unplug completely (Blogging, Twitter, Facebook, E-mail, everything on the computer!). Saturday will probably be my unplug day…But, it might vary week to week. Want to join me? Learn more here!

Getting Settled and Taking a Break

Hello everyone! I hope you had a great week!

As many of you know…my husband and I moved out of state a week ago. I am working on getting settled and accustomed to our new environment and town.

So, I am going to take this week off of blogging. This will allow me to just invest more time in my home and husband after the move.

I will be back next Monday (May 31st)!

P.S. I will probably still get on twitter.

Join me At the Well!

Today I am over At the Well sharing via video some tips to have a successful yard sale!

Life, In Spite of Me

***THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED***

The following book was provided by WaterBrook Multnomah to read and review.

Kristen Jane Anderson has a story! You need to pick up her book, Life, In Spite of Me to read it all….but, I will give you a glimpse…

Kristen was in a deep depression. Several close people in her life died, and she was also raped by someone she trusted. She was ready to end it all, and laid down on a set of railroad tracks to do just that.

She was ready for it all to end….

But, God had other plans for her and her story doesn’t end there! God has been doing amazing things in her life, in spite of herself!

This book is her story of hope, in the midst of difficulty.

Here is a video with Kristen Jane Anderson sharing a little bit about her story:

This was a quick read, partly due to shorter more manageable chapters, but mainly due to the story that encompasses each page! A story of hope and life and a future!

Don’t miss this opportunity to be inspired!

Thanks again to WaterBrook Multnomah for providing me a copy of this great book to read and review!

P.S. WaterBrook Multnomah also sent me a copy of this book to giveaway to ONE of you! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post by 11:59 pm ET on May 28th and you are entered.
