This is where most people struggling with reading. They may have that desire to read more…but, how do you find the time?
Now, I want to be honest upfront and let you know that right now, I am having to cut back on my reading time and wanting to find more time (Please leave your tips below!).
Even though I am still searching for more time to read…I do have some very practical tips on how to find time here and there.
1. Take a book with you everywhere!
Keep a book in your purse and/or in your car. That way if you are stopped by a train, or waiting for a doctor’s appointment you can just pull out your book and make use of the time!
My aunt keeps a few books in her car door storage like The Power of a Praying Woman. She uses time waiting on a train or at a stand still in traffic to pray!
I personally keep a book or two in my purse and take my purse everywhere! Now that I’m working…I especially love this because I just pull out my book and read on my breaks!
2. Think of “dead” time and read instead!
I don’t watch tons of television. But when I do, I take advantage of the commercials. I can be found cleaning, or reading on most (if not all) commercials! This time can add up! If you are watching an hour long show, you will probably have about 20 minutes of commercials!
3. Plan to go to your bedroom early.
If you plan your day and go to your bedroom a half hour early each night and read during that time, you will get far! In one week you would have been able to read 3 and a half hours! I love this because not only do I find time to read…but it also helps me relax and get prepared to go to sleep.
So, there are my tips! Now, your turn…

Besides those you mentioned, I keep a book in the bathroom! ;-)
Yes, I always keep a book in my purse too! Any snippet of time I can find to cram in 3 more pages I do :-)!

Hi Ashley! If I try to read just before bed I'll go to sleep. I can usually get some down time while my daughter is playing in the bath tub. I'll give her time to play with toys while I'm in there reading.
Have a blessed day!

I always carry a book with me – except for tonight on the way to my daughter's ball game. Who needs a book at a ball game, right? Well, I do when the little guys falls asleep in the car and really needs a nap and it is too hot to leave him in the car with the windows down. So, I sat in the car for 45 minutes with the a/c on while he slept. Couldn't see the game from where I had to park. And me with no book!! Never again!!
