Confessions of an Imperfect Wife

This past weekend, I failed…

Sometimes in this bloggy world, I feel like it seems like I have it all together…I do not!

I had a party this weekend at my house, and I was completely unprepared and stressed! Then I lashed out against my husband.

I failed. I sin. I do not have it all together.

Thank goodness the party was able to be somewhat restored, it turned into a little cooking adventure! The purpose still held true. We had great conversations about needs around the world and children in need.

We laughed, we cooked, we ate, we had fun!

And thank goodness that my husband is able and willing to give forgiveness when I sin against him.

We love, we journey, we join together!

And thank goodness that I have a Savior who came into this world and died on the cross to save me from my sins.

He came, He died, He rose again, He saves.

Sleep, It Does A Family Good

I received the following book to read and review from Tyndale House Publishers.

I’m just going to come out and say it…I have trouble sleeping. I have trouble going to sleep, I have trouble staying asleep, and I have trouble waking up…

So, when I saw the book Sleep, It Does A Family Good, I thought it would probably be a great book for me to read!

The tagline of the book caught my attention,

how busy families can overcome sleep deprivation

In this book, the author educates the reader on much to do with the topic of sleep. I learned a lot about how sleep benefits our bodies, and also how the lack of sleep harms us greatly. I really did learn!

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, I talked about a few times already (Give a “Love Gift” and “Becoming” the Right Partner) and I have a few more posts that I want write!

So, I found this book to be very inspiring, in more ways than one!

The quote that really wraps up the whole meaning behind the book is this one, from pg. 10-11:

“Bad sleeping habits in either children or parents can have a devastating effect on the spiritual, emotional, and physical health of the whole family.”

The book talks about how a lack of sleep can effect all those different aspects of your life.

It first educates the reader about the need for sleep, then helps you determine your family’s sleep problems, lastly, the book guides you on how to overcome your family’s sleep deprivation.

Sleep, It Does A Family Good was a good guide at how to develop healthy sleep habits for your whole family. I definitely recommend it!

Thanks again to Tyndale House Publishers for sending me a copy of this book to read and review.
