By Ashley Wells, on October 29th, 2010 As I have sat down to write posts to help me process and share my experience from The Relevant Conference, I am honestly at a loss for words.
It has been so hard for me to write about what happened.
Honestly, I don’t know exactly what happened…
I know that God was there.
He was there in each hug, and each smile.
He was there throughout our conversations.
He was there with each speaker.
He was there.
This conference was much needed for me. I have been feeling overwhelmed and lost. I felt as if I was lacking a vision and hope…
But, He was there for me, putting me back on the right track.
What is the right track?
Putting God First Place.
Keeping HIM the focus of our lives. Each thing we do, doing it for His glory.
He was surely there.
By Ashley Wells, on October 28th, 2010 I tried to take notes throughout the whole conference…here are some of the quotes that really spoke to my heart:
“Anyone can be a successful blogger, but only one person can be a wife to your husband and mother to your children.”
Crystal Paine
“You don’t have to be qualified to have a message.”
Sally Clarkson
“Your life and your blog are temporary, but your message is eternal.”
Kristen Welch
“You don’t need to be a gifted writer, you need to make your writing a gift.”
Ann Voskamp
I hope that these quotes give you a little glimpse of what happened at The Relevant Conference.
Did you go to the conference? Do you have a quote you would like to add?
If so, add your thoughts in the comments!
By Ashley Wells, on October 27th, 2010 One of the most exciting things I was looking forward to about The Relevant Conference was meeting some of the wonderful ladies that make up my personal blogging community.
My blogging community is the group of women who are inspiring me through their blogs, their tweets, and their comments here.
And the beauty is that this group is continuing to grow the more of YOU I meet!
It was truly an honor to meet these ladies face to face. It was weird, but also absolutely wonderful.
I think what made it weird was the fact that it was like I already knew these women, I knew their hearts and their stories from their blogs…but yet, I still didn’t know them.
It made for an interesting experience.
It really didn’t seem like an introduction kind of weekend.
It seemed like a reunion.

By Ashley Wells, on October 26th, 2010 There were lots of things that I loved about The Relevant Conference (Don’t worry, I’ll talk about that more in the coming days). However, there was one thing in particular that was my favorite part…
The closing of the conference was worship.
In those moments, it didn’t matter who we were, what our blogs were, what our stats were…
At that moment, it was all about Christ and praising Him.
Truly, it was a great follow-up to Ann Voskamp‘s message about blogging in an upside down kingdom.
She spoke so wonderfully about how you are a successful blogger from day one if you are doing it for God.
She gently reminded me that as long as I am blogging for the sake of Christ, nothing else matters!
To worship after hearing Ann Voskamp‘s talk, was perfect.
To sing In Christ Alone and come to tears at the words, was perfect.
To remind myself that in life, and in blogging, I am complete in Christ alone, was perfect.
So, I am handing this blog over to Him. It’s about Him. It’s for Him.
What an unusual way to end a blogging conference, but so perfect. We need to focus less on us, less on our blogs, less on our stats…and more on HIM!
