I am taking the rest of the year off of blogging. No more blogging here until next year. This will also include our adoptions updates (But don’t worry, I will update you of any changes come January!). I need to take this time to refocus, pray for direction, and focus on living. See you in 2012! May your Christmas Season be blessed!
Go.Today as I read the topic of “Grow,” immediately I think about growth, physical growth. Not the getting taller part…The kind of growth that women experience as they are getting closer and closer to becoming a mother. Most expectant mothers are experiencing growth as their womb expands and the life inside them is growing, therefore forcing their own body to grow and expand as well. It truly is a beautiful thing, the glowing of their face and the life being knit together within her frame. Even though my stomach is not expanding as an expectant mother, my heart is growing more and more each day. I’ve read this line, I think on jewelry, “Born in my Heart.” In terms of adoption, at least for me, this has been so true. I don’t know my children’s names yet, I’m not sure how old they are, I’m not sure of the color of their skin, I don’t even know if I will have daughters or sons or both. However, none of that information is important for my heart to make space for them and for my love towards them to grow more each and every day. Love is an interesting thing. They say distance makes the heart grow fonder. I’ve never met them, but yet the distance between us is making my heart ache for them, out of love. My love is growing. My heart is expanding. You can’t see it, but it’s there. Stop.and it’s allowed me to be… more happy. less stressed. hanging out with the hubster (lol..my husband). keeping my house clean. starting my day in the Word. planning and dreaming with a couple of friends. building community. So, you wanna know what that something is that I’ve been doing?It’s really not a secret. I’ve been reordering my life!It all started one night at my SWI class. The topic was time management. I knew that I wasn’t doing well with this, but oh boy! I didn’t realize how badly I had let my priorities get out of order. I was focusing on things that weren’t important and letting the important things slip to the side, left undone. During class, I had my eyes opened. God used Mrs. Jodi Ware to speak to my heart and let me see where I was falling short.  © Alexander Mychko | Dreamstime.com Instead of thinking how am I going to use my time. I needed to start thinking more like how does God want me to use my time. Since then I have been fighting idleness, ordering my priorities, developing habits, and setting goals. {I’ve shared each step on At the Well for our weekly projects} Guess What?I have noticed BIG differences! As you can tell from above, many of the things I want out of life, I have been getting! Even some things that I have been wanting to do (like dreaming…). Once I started to prayerfully consider my current roles in life and what my priorities are within those roles. I started planning habits that reflected those priorities and roles. Doing these tasks, I have noticed the major change has been in my heart and mind. Now I am not living aimlessly thorough life, I am on the journey of living intentionally!Intentionality is a mindset, it doesn’t come naturally. We must cultivate this spirit in our minds and heart. We must decide not to let the world or the demands that come in front of us control our life. Instead we control our life by the leading of the Spirit and by our ordering our life by our priorities. I am still learning, but I already see the fruit of my labor.
Therefore, unfortunately I didn’t get anything done at all in terms of our progress. However, I do have plans for this week:
I am so excited to give an adoption update!!! The last time I gave an update was not my favorite post to write…here is an overview: “Here is where we are. This is not where we expected to be, but yet this is where God has brought us…We are going to continue to make out house a home. We are going to pray that Michael gets a new job very soon. However, we are not going to push through this process any further until Michael’s job situation changes…Once Michael gets a new job (hopefully in the next couple of weeks) we will continue to move forward as quickly as possible. I still hope that will mean a placement by Christmas, but you just never really know.” So, I do have some updates!!! Last week, Michael got a job offer! He will be starting his new job next week. We are so thrilled and joyful and praising the Lord for providing! It was a difficult few weeks when he was having interview after interview with no offer. However, we feel good about his new job and are so excited about moving forward with our adoption process. So, we are going to do our best to get licensed by the end of the year (if not sooner). Obviously, we would have loved to have children by Christmas. However, at this point, it seems that the Lord has some plans to unite our family early 2012! |

So, the last week hasn’t shown much progress. I had a busy week planned before I knew that Michael would be getting a new job and I would start working on our paperwork.
