When The Waiting Ends

{Note: I got behind and overwhelmed after being sick. So, I am two days behind. I am still going to post my thoughts though and continue the 31 days. This is day 30.}

Eventually, the waiting will end. There will come an end to this trial. It may not be how we expect it, but eventually it will come.

That can happen many ways:

1. What you are waiting for happens.

Praise the Lord. You waited and trusted and kept running the race. You made it to the end of this trial and the beginning of a new season or experience of your life! Take some to reflect on the goodness of our Lord and King. He was faithful and He provided! Take advantage of this time to praise Him and show Him glory for what He has done!

2. God’s plans don’t include what you were waiting for, and you learn that somehow and are forced to move forward.

Maybe you were hoping for a specific job, you get a phone call and they’ve offered it to someone else. Maybe you met a man and thought he was your future husband, but the relationship ends. You thought you were done waiting, but yet the answer you saw, wasn’t God’s answer. God never leaves you and God’s plans are for your good. Cling tight to Him and keep your hope! Prayerfully consider how to move forward.

3. God changes you’re heart, and you don’t need to wait anymore.

This happened to me. We waited for so long and held on to the hope that we would be able to conceive. However, that wasn’t part of God’s plan, at least for now. Once we found out that we would need extensive reproductive assistance, we felt God change our heart, He moved in such a sweet and gentle way. We no longer wanted to pursue the path of biological children. It was such a sweet feeling for the Lord to close our heart to this desire and open our heart to another (Adoption) at just the perfect time.

4. God takes you Home.

Above all, I must end with the One True Thing that all Christians are waiting for in this life, the promise of Eternal Life. Like I said in one of the first posts of this series:

This is not our home. Christ will return one day. The waiting that we experience day to day, seems so trivial when we reflect on our waiting for our King. I don’t say this to dimish the pain that we experience while we wait. But to help you see the stricking imagery.

While we wait for the things of this world, we are ultimately waiting for Christ’s return. Each season of waiting can remind us all the more that we are ultimately waiting for Him, each and every day.

Question for you:

What takeaways do you have from this series? Has it been encouraging to you?
