The Heart Behind My E-Book

i n f e r t i l i t y

The 11 letter word that no woman wants to speak. No woman wants to hear. No woman wants to feel. But yet, I’ve felt it.

After three years of attempting to become pregnant, in February of 2009, I learned that outside of divine intervention I would not be able to conceive or sustain life inside of my body.

I felt broken. I felt alone. I kept thinking, “This isn’t the way it’s supposed to happen.” But yet, that is the way it happened.

On this journey, I second-guessed my faith and wavered in the sea of suffering. I lost sight of the One who cared for me. I felt like my head was below water and I could not reach for the surface. I felt like I was left alone, drowning, with no one to rescue me. This journey led me to the end of my rope.

Must Do Project!

I love this project I’m hosting over At the Well.

This week’s project is:

to enrich the spiritual lives of military personnel by writing a note to be transcribed into a free Bible and handed out!

Join me in this project this week as we seek to spread the gospel and love of God to our military!

Practice Contentment

This week’s Fixing Your Heart on Titus 2 challenge is to practice contentment. God has been working in my life, MAJORLY, in this area the past few months. I am so happy for that. I was such a grumbler and living doubting His goodness.

Read my post At the Well and link up to practice contentment with us this week!

Good Meal to Bless Others

Yesterday’s Fixing Your Heart on Titus 2 project was to feed someone who is hungry. Today At the Well, we are sharing good recipes to use when blessing someone with a meal.

I love to do this! Either by inviting someone to our house or taking a meal to theirs! Here is my go to recipe:

Glorified Potato Soup

Serves about 4 people

Ingredients
2-3 cups cubed potatoes (skins on, if desired)
1 cup water
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 chopped carrot
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
2 cups chopped broccoli and/or cauliflower
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 lb. Velveeta (or similar) pasteurized prepared cheese product, cut into cubes
1 tsp. chopped fresh parsley
Parmesan cheese

Directions
1. In a large pot with a lid, combine potatoes, water, celery, carrot, onion, and bell pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes. Add broccoli and simmer for about 5-10 more minutes, or until vegetables are tender.
2. Add milk and heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally. Stir in cheese and cook over a low heat until cheese is melted. Do not boil or cheese will start to burn.
3. Stir in parsley and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
4. Serve and enjoy!
